MARY PETRIK LILIENFELD

Born as Maria Franciska Petrik on September 28, 1891 in Košice, Slovakia, to Peter Petrik and Anna Vislocky.

Her parents were born and married in Litmanova. Peter worked as a bailiff in Košice. The family moved to Levoča sometime around 1900.

Arrived in the USA on November 23, 1906, at age 15, on the ship S. S. Main sailing from Bremen to New York. She lived in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, NY, and was employed as a dressmaker.

Returned to Levoča, Slovakia, briefly in 1912. Arrived in the USA again on June 25, 1913, at age 21, on the ship Lutzow sailing from Bremen to New York.

Married Eugene Lilienfeld, a Jew from Nagy Karoly, Hungary, on October 11, 1916, in Manhattan, NY, at age 25. They had 2 children, Alfred and Helen.

Shortly after her marriage, moved to the Bronx, NY. Later moved to Westwood, Bergen county, NJ, and also lived in Woodside, Queens, NY. Eugene worked in a restaurant and eventually became a restaurant proprietor.

Mary died on April 5, 1955, at age 63. She is buried in Westwood Cemetery, Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
