Born as Helena Andrejčik on April 20, 1893 in Litmanova, Slovakia to Michal Andrejčik and Maria Marčišak.

Arrived in the USA on November 20, 1913, at age 20, on the ship Rhein sailing from Bremen to New York.

Married William Bely, a native of Russia, in 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA, at age 26. They had 2 children, Vera and Walter.

Resided in Pittsburgh and Ambridge, PA where her husband was a steelworker. Moved to Manhattan, NY sometime between 1930 and 1942. Lived in the East Village neighborhood on East 4th Street, and later moved to the Bronx.

Died in May 1986 in the Bronx, NY at age 93.
