Born as Maria Kuč on July 1, 1881 in Litmanova, Slovakia, to Alex Kuč and Anna Korčak.

Arrived in the USA on November 14, 1901, at age 20, on the ship Meier sailing from Bremen to New York.

Worked as a maid in Manhattan, NY during her first few years in the USA.

Married John Bennie (Beňo), a native of Litmanova, on September 17, 1904 in Youngstown, PA, at age 23. They had 7 children: Charles, George, John, Mary, Michael, Nicholas and Peter.

Resided in Youngstown, Fayette county, PA, where her husband was employed as a coal miner.

Died on December 29, 1945 in Youngstown, PA, at age 64. Buried in St. John's Greek Catholic cemetery, Uniontown.
